Landscape


The undulating landscape is dotted with small lakes and extending as far as the borders of the Périgord and the Quercy.
Through the orchards below, you can also view a pigeon house, windmill, castle or a wall bell tower.
Worthwhile seeing are the canal bridges where the 'Canal du Midi' crosses the Garonne.


Gardens and Parks


Amongst the many gardens and castle grounds, you may enjoy wonderful flower gardens featuring irises, roses and waterlilies.


Prehistoric


The area is known as the 'birthplace of mankind' due to its wealth of prehistoric sites, of which the most famous prehistoric site is the painted cave of Lascaux.


Country of the Bastides


Cancon is surrounded by picturesque, medieval, fortified villages like Monflanquin, Monpazier, Pujols and Villeréal.
There are also other charming cities including Agen, Bergerac en Villeneuve-sur-Lot that are certainly worth visiting.


Castles


In this area there are many fortresses and castles. Biron, Bonaguil and Duras provide great sightseeing. Plus several imposing ruins including Gavaudun. It is not difficult to imagine the nobel knights, maidens and troubadours of old.
